Own managed arrival to Trier
A vintner welcomes you to the main market, the Triers parlor, with a glass of sparkling wine. Discover the city with the historical buildings and the savoir-vivre of the residents.
Trier to Piesport
Your cycle tour begins in Trier on the Moselle cycle path down the Moselle, through meadows and vineyards. Along the way you will come across things that testify to a long history of viticulture in this region. For example, a replica of a Roman wine ship in Neumagen-Dhron or a Roman wine press. It is not far from there to Piesport, your overnight stay.
Piesport to Traben-Trarbach
The Moselle cycle path takes you via Brauneberg with its impressive avenue of walnut trees to Bernkastel-Kues. A city that looks like a half-timbered museum. You can take a sweet cyclist break at the best ice cream maker in the Middle Moselle. Your destination for the day is the Art Nouveau town of Traben-Trarbach. Explore the museum line or the castle ruins before you let the evening fade away.
Traben-Trarbach to Ediger-Eller
Today's stage on the Moselle cycle path takes you through the area of the Black Cat, the world-famous vineyard in Zell. Rest your tired cyclist legs during a relaxed picnic on the banks of the Moselle. When you arrive in Ediger-Eller, swap your bike for hiking boots. Hike along the Höhenweg to the steepest vineyard in Europe, the Calmont, or dare to climb the famous via ferrata.
Ediger-Eller to Treis-Karden
Passing the "Sleeping Beauty Village" Beilstein you will reach the Moselle town of Cochem with its long Moselle promenade and the late Gothic Reichsburg. The Moselle cycle path is not far to the double town of Treis-Karden, known for its Moselle cathedral. During a wine tasting you will learn everything about the work of the winemaker and of course you can also taste his end product.
Treis-Karden to Koblenz
Today you can guess how much work goes into the production of a good wine, because the bike tour follows the Moselle cycle path along the Moselle terraces to Koblenz. From the Deutsches Eck, where the Moselle and Rhine flow together, you take the cable car up to the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. Explore the area around the fortress and experience beautiful views.
