Own managed arrival to Trier
Your vacation begins with a glass of sparkling wine in the middle of the city, which is also known as the Rome of the North. Between historic houses and buildings steeped in history, you will quickly discover that there is indeed a southern flair in Germany's oldest city.
Trier to Leiwen
The bike tour starts on the Moselle Cycle Path. You drive along the Moselle past meadows, forests and vineyards. On the way, stop by a vinotheque for the cyclists' feast deluxe, before it is over the Roman wine route to Leiwen.
Leiwen to Bernkastel-Kues
In the oldest wine village in Germany you can see a faithful replica of a Roman wine ship and in Piesport one of the largest Roman wine presses north of the Alps. After the Moselle cycle path has taken you to Bernkastel-Kues, park your bike and explore the river from a boat. In the evening you shouldn't miss a tour of the medieval city. Maybe accompanied by a night watchman who can tell many interesting stories.
Bernkastel-Kues to Zell(Mosel)
You drive down the Moselle and reach the Machern monastery. An excellent beer is brewed here, and distillates can also be tasted in a cellar. There is also a toy and icon museum. After visiting the monastery, cycle along the Moselle cycle path to the Bad Wildstein thermal spring and through the Art Nouveau town of Traben-Trarbach. In the area of the Zeller Schwarze Katz You should taste the famous drop that is produced from the grapes of this vineyard.
Zell(Mosel) to Cochem
Today's stage of the Moselle Cycle Path takes you to the via ferrata at Calmont and Sleeping Beauty-site Beilstein before you reach your overnight accommodation Cochem. The image of this city is characterized by small alleys, a colorfully planted Moselle promenade and the late Gothic imperial castle. On some days knightly feasts are offered here.
Cochem to Koblenz
Cycle on the Moselle Cycle Path past the Terrace-Moselle, wine bars, old half-timbered houses and historic castles. In Koblenz, where the Moselle and Rhine merge at the Deutsches Eck, the cable car takes you to the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress, before you end the evening with a walk through the alleys of the old town.
