Bernkastel-Kues is the ideal starting point for exploring the Middle Moselle by bike. Today you start up the Moselle to Piesport. Here is one of the largest Roman wine presses north of the Alps and the "Piesporter Goldtröpfchen" is a well-known wine location. The Moselle Cycle Path takes you on the other side of the Moselle back to Bernkastel-Kues. In the afternoon, discover the cozy town center with the historic half-timbered houses and narrow streets that lead past the houses. At the end of the day there is a Moselle evening with wine tasting at the winemaker.
Daun to Bernkastel-Kues
After you have been brought to Daun, your bike tour begins in the Vulkaneifel. On the Maars Moselle Cycle Path along the maars, which are refreshing bathing lakes in summer, you cycle on the old railway line towards the Moselle. The path leads you through illuminated tunnels and over viaducts to wonderful viewpoints. On the way you can fortify yourself on a winery with a hearty snack and a refreshing drink. After this break you roll back comfortably into the Moselle valley.
