DAY 1: OWN MANAGED ARRIVAL TO ZELL
You travel to Zell, your starting point for your hiking holiday on the Moselle. In the city center there is a fountain with the famous Zeller Schwarze Katz, after which the vineyard is named.
DAY 2: MOSELSTEIG TRAIL STAGE 15 | ZELL TO NEEF | 20 KM | Ø 6 HOURS
After a steep ascent to the Collis Tower, you will be rewarded with magnificent views through the Moselsteig Trail. Those who like to climb can reach the tower via the Collis steep path with an alpine character. Shortly before the stage destination Neef, it goes uphill again to the summit cross. A detour to Petersberg, a narrow mountain ridge, takes you to one of the most beautiful places on the Moselle. In Neef you can taste the many variations of the vineyard peach.
DAY 3: MOSELSTEIG TRAIL STAGE 16 | NEEF TO EDIGER-ELLER | 11 KM | Ø 4 HOURS
The shortest of the 24 stages of the Moselsteig Trail is also the most demanding. The path leads over serpentines into the steepest vineyard in Europe, the Bremmer Calmont. If this is not enough for you, you can prove yourself on the Calmont via ferrata. In the evening you can enjoy a tarte flambée with a glass of fruity Moselle Riesling in Ediger-Eller.
DAY 4: MOSELSTEIG TRAIL STAGE 17 | EDIGER-ELLER TO BEILSTEIN | 18 KM | Ø 5.5 HOURS
After the two strenuous stages, you hike more comfortably on the Moselsteig, past numerous holy houses, to the Roman graves with the best-preserved vault paintings north of the Alps. The path leads through the Briederner Schweiz with its impressive nature to a Carmelite church and reaches Beilstein, the Sleeping Beauty village on the Moselle with Metternich Castle.
DAY 5: MOSELSTEIG TRAIL STAGE 18 | BEILSTEIN TO COCHEM | 15 KM | Ø 4.5 HOURS
On this stage of your hiking holiday on the Moselle, you will find out how difficult the work of winemakers on the steep slopes is today. You hike over the Moselkrampen with its very narrow paths and narrow stairs to Cochem, overcoming mountain heights, small streams, slopes and rocky paths several times.
DAY 6: OWN MANAGED DEPARTURE FROM COCHEM
Pay a visit to the Reichsburg in Cochem before you start your journey home from this sporty holiday. Or take a little more time and reserve an extra night with you.
