Fitness level: medium | Experience: pleasure & wine
Start: daily | Execution: private unaccompanied | Luggage transport: included
We have put together our most beautiful Moselle highlights for you as a "Tour of the Year" including luggage transfer. You will experience a wonderful time on the Moselle.
DAY 1: ARRIVAL TO TRIER
A vintner welcomes you to the main market, the Triers parlor, with a glass of sparkling wine. Discover the city with the historical buildings and the savoir-vivre of the residents.
DAY 2: CYCLING TOUR TRIER TO PIESPORT | 47 KM
From Trier you cycle down the Moselle, through meadows and vineyards. Along the way you will come across things that testify to a long history of viticulture in this region. For example, a replica of a Roman wine ship in Neumagen-Dhron or a Roman wine press. It is not far from there to Piesport, your overnight stay.
DAY 3: CYCLING TOUR PIESPORT TO TRABEN-TRARBACH | 44 KM
The Moselle cycle path takes you via Brauneberg with its old walnut avenue to Bernkastel-Kues. A city that looks like a half-timbered museum. You can take a sweet cyclist break at the best ice cream maker in the Middle Moselle. Your destination for the day is the Art Nouveau town of Traben-Trarbach. Explore the museum line or the castle ruins before you let the evening fade away.
DAY 4: CYCLING TOUR TRABEN-TRARBACH TO EDIGER-ELLER | 36 KM
Your stage takes you through the area of the »Schwarzen Katz«, the world-famous vineyard in Zell. Rest your tired cyclist legs during a relaxed picnic on the banks of the Moselle. When you arrive in Ediger-Eller, swap your bike for hiking boots. Hike along the Höhenweg to the steepest vineyard in Europe, the Calmont, or dare to climb the famous via ferrata.
DAY 5: CYCLING TOUR EDIGER-ELLER TO TREIS-KARDEN | 34 KM
Passing the "Sleeping Beauty Village" Beilstein you will reach the Moselle town of Cochem with its long Moselle promenade and the late Gothic Reichsburg. It is not far to the twin town of Treis-Karden, known for the Moselle cathedral. During a wine tasting you will learn everything about the work of the winemaker and of course you can also taste his end product.
DAY 6: CYCLING TOUR TREIS-KARDEN TO KOBLENZ | 39 KM
Today you can guess how much work goes into making a good wine, because you cycle along the Moselle terraces to Koblenz. From the Deutsches Eck, where the Moselle and Rhine flow together, you take the cable car up to the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. Explore the area around the fortress and experience beautiful views.
DAY 7: DEPARTURE FROM KOBLENZ
You have experienced a lot on this pleasure & wine tour. Would you like to take a rest day during or after your bike tour? Please, don't hesitate to contact us.
