Are you a wine fan ?! Get to know the Moselle with its famous vineyards and watch the winemaker at work. As an encore, enjoy the beautiful landscape.
DAY 1: ARRIVAL TO TRIER
Trier winemakers welcome you to the city with a glass of sparkling wine. Then stroll through the Moselle metropolis and discover the cultural diversity and Mediterranean flair of the city.
DAY 2: CYCLING TOUR TRIER TO NEUMAGEN-DHRON | 45 KM
The bike tour begins on the historical bike path along the Roman Wine Route, which was used to transport wine in ancient times. In Neumagen-Dhron, in your current destination, you can enjoy a glass of wine with a view of the faithful replica of a Roman wine ship.
DAY 3: CYCLING TOUR NEUMAGEN-DHRON TO KRÖV | 40 KM
Even today everything is dominated by viticulture. At Piesport you cycle past an ancient wine press, in which the grapes are still trampled underfoot once a year in the old fashion. Make a stop in Bernkastel-Kues. Worth seeing is the Spitzhäuschen, which illustrates how people used to adapt to the circumstances when building a house. Your destination for the day will be Kröv, the home of the Kröver naked ass. At the winemaker you will learn about the work in the winery and taste the lovely Moselle wine at a wine tasting.
DAY 4: CYCLING TOUR KRÖV TO EDIGER-ELLER | 42 KM
Today, architecture enthusiasts get their money's worth, because you pass the Art Nouveau town of Traben-Trarbach. Discover facades, buildings and mosaics as well as a number of architectural features. We continue to Zell, where the famous Schwarze Katz vineyard is located. On your way you can see the Calmont, the steepest vineyard in Europe. You spend the night at the winemaker's in Ediger-Eller. While you are tasting the wine, you can look over his shoulder into the barrel and into the wine cellar.
DAY 5: CYCLING TOUR EDIGER-ELLER TO TREIS-KARDEN | 34 KM
Cochem is a worthwhile destination. Stroll through narrow streets. Lovingly laid out green spaces and sidewalks along the banks of the Moselle and the Reichsburg that towers over the city will inspire you. Cycle down the Moselle to your overnight stay in Treis-Karden.
DAY 6: CYCLING TOUR TREIS-KARDEN TO KOBLENZ | 39 KM
Passing vineyards, wine taverns and many half-timbered buildings you get to Koblenz, the city on the German corner. If you wish, take the cable car up to the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress and enjoy a view of the Rhine and Moselle valleys. Finally, enjoy a traditional winemaker's menu in the wine village.
DAY 7: DEPARTURE FROM KOBLENZ
It's hard to say goodbye, but there is still some consolation... memories of an eventful pleasure and wine tour by bike, during which you learned a lot about the history of wine. We recommend additional rest days before or after the tour and will be happy to provide you with further leisure tips.
