Fitness level: medium | Experience: pleasure & wine, comfortable, for groups
Start: daily | Execution: private unaccompanied
Our relaxed short tour through the Eifel and along the Middle Moselle gives you an insight into our beautiful surroundings and certainly makes you want more...
DAY 1: ARRIVAL TO BERNKASTEL-KUES
You travel on your own to Bernkastel-Kues, from where you can explore the Middle Moselle and the Vulkaneifel by bike. Visit the Wine Museum to learn how winemakers work. In the city center you can look at half-timbered houses and fountains while you stroll through the idyllic little streets. As a welcome, we invite you to the pastry chef for a cup of coffee and a piece of Moselle wine cake or homemade pralines.
DAY 2: CYCLING TOUR DAUN TO BERNKASTEL-KUES | 55 KM
In the morning a transfer bus takes you to Daun, where your bike tour through the Vulkaneifel begins. Cycle comfortably down a disused railway line. The path leads you back towards the Moselle through illuminated tunnels and over viaducts, where the steam locomotive once puffed. You pass the maars. These are lakes that were created in extinct volcanic craters. At lunchtime you can take a delightful cycling break in a rustic barn café. Stroll through the medieval town center in the evening and discover cozy little wine bars where you can have a nightcap or two.
DAY 3: CYCLING TOUR BERNKASTEL-KUES TO TRABEN-TRARBACH AND BACK, FOLLOWED BY DEPARTURE | 48 KM
On your stage down the Moselle you should look up every now and then. There you see the sundials in the vineyards. Ancient timepieces that work without any technology. The Hochmosel crossing, an imposing bridge, is also worth a look at the sky. You continue past well-known vineyards to Traben-Trarbach, the city known for its Art Nouveau architecture and its Buddha Museum. On the way back, you will stop at the former Cistercian monastery of Machern with its brewery, toy and icon museum. Try the home-brewed beer, because Bernkastel is only a stone's throw away.
You could get to know the Eifel and Middle Moselle during your star bike tour. Are you interested in discovering more of our Moselle region?
OUR TIP - Recommended tour for an additional day:
CYCLING TOUR BERNKASTEL-KUES TO PIESPORT AND BACK | 40 KM
Start up the Moselle via Lieser, with a castle well worth seeing, past a Roman wine press opposite Brauneberg to Piesport. Your route then takes you via Brauneberg with a walnut avenue worth seeing, past Mülheim, whose wines were served on the maiden flight of the Zeppelin, back to Bernkastel-Kues.
FOR GROUPS - This tour is also good for groups!

Our centrally located overnight partners on the Moselle are selected middle and superior class hotels, guest houses and inns. All rooms have a bath / toilet or shower / toilet.
Overnight stay in the standard category
In the standard category there are rooms in pensions and guest houses with simple furnishings. In Trier and Koblenz there are typical city hotels.
Overnight stay in the comfort category

Overnight stay in the superior category
Since there is no 4-star hotel close to the center in Bernkastel-Kues, accommodation here is in a high-quality 3-star hotel.
Single room bookings
In many cases, the single rooms booked in your accommodation are double rooms for single use.
