Own managed arrival to Trier
At the beginning of your hiking holiday you will be welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine at the lively main market in Trier on the Moselle.
Trier to Schweich
Your first Moselsteig Trail stage leads over steep rocky paths with a wonderful view of the picturesque Moselle valley. The path leads you down into the Kylltal, then up over a crossroad to Schweich.
Schweich to Mehring
Uphill and downhill, rewarded with fantastic views, on the third day of your hiking holiday you reach the Huxlay plateau over the Mehringer Berg. At the wine village of Mehring you leave the Moselsteig Trail and in the evening you can enjoy a glass of wine here.
Mehring to Leiwen
The third day on the Moselsteig Trail goes over a via ferrata to the Knüppchen Chamber and on to the famous Fünfseenblick. Downhill through forest and vineyards you reach Leiwen.
Leiwen to Neumagen-Dhron
The Moselsteig leads you past a game reserve and over the Zummethöhe. From there you have a fantastic view of the Moselle loop near Trittenheim. In Neumagen-Dhron you can see a replica of a Roman wine ship, the Stella Noviomagi, while you can enjoy your dinner.
Neumagen-Dhron to Osann-Monzel
Through the picturesque Two Creek Valley you get to Piesport, where you can relax in an ostrich tavern directly on the banks of the Moselle. The Moselsteig Trail leads you to a Roman Sauerbrunnen, now a relaxing treading pool for tired feet. You stay overnight in Kesten or Osann-Monzel.
Osann-Monzel to Bernkastel-Kues
The Moselsteig Trail runs past rocky cliffs with layers of slate and along well-known vineyards. After a steady climb you will reach Landshut Castle in Bernkastel-Kues, which offers great views of narrow streets and houses in the city. Round off the day with an enjoyable dinner.
